Adults
Two minutes of memory for sequences. Works both as a warm-up and as a relaxed game with sound.
Also known as: repeat the melody, repeat after me game, repeat the color sequence, auditory memory game
Four colored buttons light up one by one and play notes. Repeat the melody in the same order. Each correct answer adds a note, and the pace speeds up a little. You can turn the sound off: every note is still visible as a flash. A game lasts two minutes or until three mistakes. You can play 10 minutes a day without signing up.

The exercise works your working memory for sequences: you have to hold on not only to which buttons sounded, but also to the order they came in. Sound and color back each other up: some people remember the melody by ear, others by the flashes.
The points for a round equal the length of the melody you repeated. Once you sign up, your result is saved, and your account shows a chart.
Hold a growing sequence in mind.
Remember a melody by ear.
Remember the order of the flashes.
Miss one note and the round doesn’t count.
Press “Start”. The buttons light up and sound one by one. The first melody has two notes.
When the display ends, press the buttons in the same order. On a keyboard, the number keys 1–4 work too.
Got it right: one note is added to the melody, and the pace gets a little faster.
After a mistake, the same melody plays again. The third mistake ends the game.
The game ends after two minutes or three mistakes. Your score is the total length of all the melodies you repeated.
Press “Start”, listen and watch, then repeat the melody.

The “repeat the sequence” task is one of the oldest in memory research: it shows how many items in a row a person can hold in mind. In the Corsi test those items are blocks, in the digit span test they are numbers, and here they are colors and notes at once.
The notes are chosen so that any sequence sounds pleasant. If the sound bothers you, turn it off with the button above the board: every note is still visible as a flash. A similar task without sound is “Corsi Blocks”.
Two minutes of memory for sequences. Works both as a warm-up and as a relaxed game with sound.
Not part of the “Kids” collection. The rules are clear without reading, and in a kids profile the melody plays more slowly. Suitable from age 6.
Not part of the “60+” collection. After a mistake the same melody plays again, and you can also play without sound.
