Adults
A fun logic check for adults. It also works as practice before professional aptitude tests.
Also known as: iq test online, intelligence test online, free iq style test, logic test with shapes
Twenty 3 × 3 grids, each with one empty cell. In each one you find the rule and choose the missing figure from six options. Tasks go from easy to hard, and you have 15 minutes in total. It’s an approximate logic test scored on the trainer’s own scale, not a clinical IQ test. You get your result for free after entering your email: we show it on screen and send it to your inbox.

The test checks how you find patterns in shapes and apply them to a new problem. That’s one of the main parts of what people call logical intelligence, but not the whole picture: IQ is made up of several kinds of abilities.
A real IQ is measured by specialists using standardized methods, and the score is calculated against age norms. There’s none of that here: you get the number of correct answers and a rating on the trainer’s scale, which helps you compare your own attempts. Don’t make decisions about health, school or work based on this result alone.
Find the pattern in shape, color, number and size.
Apply the rule to the empty cell.
Notice the differences between similar options.
Solve as many as you can in 15 minutes.
Press “Start”. The first 3 × 3 grid with an empty cell appears.
Compare the cells across rows and down columns: the shape, color, number and size of the figures change.
Out of six options, pick the one that fits the empty cell, or skip the task.
After 20 tasks, or when the 15 minutes are up, you’ll see the number of correct answers and a rating on the trainer’s scale.
Press “Start” and solve the matrices. Without signing up you can play 10 minutes a day, and the test takes up to 15, so it’s best to sign up to complete it in full.

Matrix tasks (find the missing piece by a rule) are one of the best-known formats in psychology: they depend little on language and knowledge. Various intelligence tests are built on this principle. We use our own tasks, created by a program, and don’t copy anyone else’s test forms.
The number of correct answers can’t be converted into “your IQ”: that would require norms tested on large groups of people. We honestly show your result in the trainer’s points. If you need a real test, see a qualified psychologist.

For schoolchildren, the Patterns exercise is a better fit: it adapts its difficulty. This test is designed for adults and teens.
Large figures and 15 minutes, with no rush between tasks. You can skip the hard ones.

Question 1 of 4
No. It’s an approximate logic test with matrices. It doesn’t use age norms and doesn’t give an IQ score. The result shows how many tasks you solved in this trainer.
An IQ number is calculated from norms tested on large samples of people. We don’t have such norms, and making up a number would be misleading. We show the number of correct answers and a rating on the trainer’s scale.
It’s the same 20 matrices and the same scale, presented as an approximate IQ-style test for people looking for that format. Results are scored the same way.
Yes. A skip doesn’t cost points, but it doesn’t earn any either. You can’t go back to a skipped task.
As a guide for self-observation and practice, yes. For decisions about school, work or health, you need a specialist and a standardized test.
