Learning the times tables isn’t enough: you need to recall them quickly, without counting on your fingers. The timer sets the pace, and the levels follow the table row by row, so the hard facts show up only after you’re confident with the easy ones.
Your score is correct answers minus mistakes. Once you sign up, every round is saved: you see your score, correct answers, mistakes and top level, and a 30-day chart shows how your results change.
Recall the answer instantly, without counting.
The faster you answer, the more problems you solve in two minutes.
A mistake costs a point, so guessing doesn’t pay.
The level goes up only after confident answers.
Press “Start”. Five problems appear on the screen and a two-minute timer begins.
Type the answer with the on-screen buttons or the number keys on your keyboard. Once you’ve typed as many digits as the correct answer has, it’s checked automatically.
A correct answer earns a point and a mistake takes one away, but your score never drops below zero. If you get it wrong, the correct answer appears next to it.
Problems come in sets of five. If you get 4 out of 5 right in a checkpoint set, the level goes up; with fewer, it may go down.
After two minutes the round ends. You’ll see your score, correct answers, mistakes and top level.
Press “Start” and type your answers. Without sign-up you get 10 minutes of play a day.

The levels follow the order in which the table is usually taught at school: first multiplying by 2 and 3, then by 4, 5 and 6, then by 7, 8 and 9. The other factor is from 2 to 10, and the factors can come in either order. On level 4 the whole table is mixed.
The reverse operation is practiced in “Division Facts”. For addition and subtraction within 100, try “Addition and Subtraction”.
