The classic Bourdon test is a cancellation task: on a sheet you look for target symbols among similar ones and cross them out. In this version the letters are replaced by rings with a gap, and the side of the gap defines what you’re looking for. It checks concentration, scanning speed and how well you hold up during monotonous work.
Your score for a sheet is the number of correctly marked rings minus the number of extra marks. Missed rings don’t cost points, but they don’t earn any either. The result helps you compare your own games with each other. It’s not a clinical test and not a diagnosis.
Keeping the search rule in mind for the whole sheet.
Moving along the rows without skipping rings.
Not marking extras: an extra mark costs a point.
Keeping your pace to the end of the 90 seconds.
Press “Start”. The top of the screen shows which ring to look for (gap on the right, left, top or bottom).
Tap the rings with the right gap. Tapping a ring again removes the mark.
Press “Sheet done”: your points are counted and a new sheet appears, possibly with a different rule.
After 90 seconds the game shows the rings you found, extra marks, misses and the number of sheets.
Press “Start” and mark the rings with the gap on the given side. You can play 10 minutes a day without signing up.

The cancellation test was proposed by French psychologist Benjamin Bourdon in the late 19th century: a person crosses out given letters on a form, and attention is judged by how many symbols were found and missed. Landolt rings appeared around the same time in ophthalmology: they are rings with a gap used to test visual acuity.
We combined both ideas into an on-screen task. It’s a simplified version for training, not a standardized clinical form, and it has no age norms. For another attention task, try the Schulte Table.
A calm concentration check. Good for anyone whose work demands attention to numbers and text.
Good for school-age kids: no reading required. On a phone there are fewer rings per sheet.
The rings are large, you mark them with a tap, and nobody rushes you until the 90 seconds are up.

Question 1 of 4
The task is the same: find target symbols among similar ones. Here the symbols are rings with a gap, so you don’t need to read or recognize letters, and the search rule can change from sheet to sheet.
For each sheet: correctly marked rings minus extra marks, but never below zero. Points add up over all the sheets you get through in 90 seconds.
Rings with a small gap. They are used to test visual acuity: you have to tell which way the gap is facing.
No, it’s not a clinical test. The result helps you compare your own games: whether you find more rings and make fewer mistakes over time.
As many as you can in 90 seconds. You can check a sheet any time you think you’ve marked all the rings.
