Sudoku is a puzzle of step-by-step deduction: the row, column and block leave only one possible digit. Small grids take about a minute, so in one round you get through several puzzles and can feel yourself getting faster.
Every puzzle is generated fresh and checked to have exactly one solution. Once you sign up, your account shows your score, the number of sudoku solved and your mistakes.
A digit goes in once the others are ruled out.
You need to check the row, the column and the block.
You keep the candidates for a cell in your head.
It pays to start with the cells that have the fewest options.
Press “Start”. A 4×4 sudoku appears: every row, column and 2×2 block must contain the digits 1 to 4.
Tap an empty cell. Its row, column and block are highlighted.
Tap a digit below the grid or type it on the keyboard. A correct digit stays; a wrong one flashes red and disappears.
Solve it and the next sudoku appears. After two 4×4 grids come 6×6 grids with 2×3 blocks, and there are more empty cells.
Correct digit: 1 point on a 4×4 grid and 2 on a 6×6. A solved grid gives a bonus of 3 or 8 points. A mistake costs a point.
Fill the grid with digits and no repeats. Without signing up you get 10 minutes of play a day.

The rules are the same as in classic 9×9 sudoku, only the grid is smaller: 4×4 with 2×2 blocks and 6×6 with 2×3 blocks. Puzzles are built from a random filled grid, and digits are removed as long as the solution stays unique.
